The World Women Leadership Congress recently honoured Narmin K. Ismail, founder and CEO of the Spark of Hope Foundation with an Outstanding Women Leadership Achievement Award, at their congress in Mumbai, India on Feb 14, 2015.

“The Award recognizes outstanding women professionals who have the vision, flair, acumen and professionalism to demonstrate excellent leadership and managing skills in an organization, making changes and achieving results,” said Dr Raju Bhatia, Founder of the congress.

“I am humbled to be receiving this award, which I am delighted to accept on behalf of board members, volunteers, on-ground partners, universities and donors who have made possible the Foundation’s very rapid growth in such a short time” says Narmin. “It is even more humbling in light of the tremendous achievements of other women leaders also being recognized for their outstanding leadership,” she demurs.

Narmin adds: “But my greatest admiration is for the courage, tenacity, resilience and determination of our young women scholars, most of whom have overcome huge disadvantages to gain admission and scholarships to university. I have been moved by their personal stories, and by their hard work and ambition while at university. They are the ones who will no doubt be amazing future leaders!”
